2. To those 80's child, I'm sure most of you would remember if you're a fan of BSB (Backstreet Boys) or at least you have siblings in your house who love the typical US boy band.

5.c. Promise is a 1986 Hallmark Hall of Fame television movie. The movie is about an estranged son named Bob, who inherits his dead mother's estate, and surprisingly custody of his younger brother D.J. , who suffers from schizophrenia and epilepsy. Bob is initially reluctant at his new responsibility, but then remembers that he had promised his mother to look after his brother.

5.d. In the novel "the Step Child by Donna Ford", Helen, the bloody stepmom, promise the innocent Donna, that she would beat the crap out of her, should the small innocent child move an inch from where she was standing. That was her promise.

6. If we look closely, promises made between two individuals or two parties would benefit both parties, so called win-win situation.

* the son who promise to come home early, get to go out and play while the mom does not have to worry about him missing dinner and maghrib.

* the father who promises a holiday to his children, gets to go to work without his children clinging to him crying all the way to the garage and the kids of course get to go on a holiday.

* the slut who promises not to wreck a marriage, gives the wife a relief and yet still manage to contact the woman's husband without her knowing.

*the nanny who promises not to touch the belongings of her employer, get to work around the house without a pair of prying eyes spying on her and the employer would feel a little ease in the heart.

* Two lovers who promise each other faithfulness throughout the relationship, gains trust on each other which would later be broken when one of them finally find a way to break the promise made.

*a lawyer who promises to win a case, gives a subtle feeling in his client and he himself would work hard in order to strive his best for the case; gaining him good reputation and better pay.

7. As we all can see, promises are made to satisfy both sides, the one making the promise and the one who the promises are made to.

8. But promises are ALWAYS being broken that I sometimes don't see the reason why human needs to make promises.

9. I guess it's just another way to put our worries at rest, although just for a little while.
